MY GOD!

My sweet Lord
Mm, my Lord
Mm, my Lord
I really want to see you
Really want to be with you
Really want to see you, Lord
But it takes so long, my Lord
My sweet Lord
Mm, my Lord
Mm, my Lord
I really want to know you
Really want to go with you
Really want to show you, Lord
That it won't take long, my Lord
My sweet Lord
(Hallelujah)
Mm my Lord
(Hallelujah)
My sweet Lord
(Hallelujah)
Really wanna see you
Really wanna see you
Really wanna see you, Lord
Really wanna see you, Lord
But it takes so long, my Lord
My sweet Lord
(Hallelujah)
Mm, my Lord
(Hallelujah)
My, my, my Lord
(Hallelujah)
I really wanna know you
(Hallelujah)
Really wanna go with you
(Hallelujah)
Really wanna show you, Lord
That it won't take long, my Lord
(Hallelujah)
Mmm
(Hallelujah)
My sweet Lord
(Hallelujah)
My, my Lord
(Hallelujah)
Mmm, my Lord (Hare Krishna)
My, my, my Lord (Hare Krishna)
Oh, my sweet Lord (Krishna, Krishna)
Oh (Hare Hare)
Now I really wanna see you (Hare Rama)
Really wanna be with you (Hare Rama)
Really wanna see you, Lord
But it takes so long, my Lord (Hallelujah)
Mm, my Lord (Hallelujah)
My, my, my Lord (Hare Krishna)
My sweet Lord (Hare Krishna)
My sweet Lord (Krishna, Krishna)
My Lord (Hare Hare)
Mmmm (Gurur Brahma)
Mmmm (Gurur Vishnu)
Mmmm (Gurur Devo)
Mmmm (Maheshwara)
My sweet Lord (Gurur Sakshaat)
My sweet Lord (Parabrahma)
My, my, my Lord (Tasmayi Shree)

This makes more sense to me than the mumbo jumbo stuff I was taught at school and what Robert The Catholic Guy  says on his blog. Angels without brains indeed!

Thanks to some random black guy that brought this to my attention but I'm not in a hurry like old George to go and see this sweet lord.

We miss you though George.

"I BELIEVE IN ME KOFEFE ALMIGHTY ..."

No doubt, unless you live under a rock, you've seen Trump's latest image posting o himself 'at prayer'.

Who, as well as me think that this is offensive?

The funny thing is though that Robert The Catholic Cleaner has made no mention of this in his blogs. He's currently banging on about angels and their anatomical features (they don't have brains but the bible suggests that they have arseholes apparently).

I wonder if, given the Catholic Church's propaganda machine directed from The Vatican, local Catholic churches will have this as a talking point at sermons?

Probably not since this is happening in the real world. They'll probably have some important messages about not getting angry when hanging clocks on the wall or reminding women how lucky they are to be treated "fairly well" by the Church.

Certainly I'm unaware that the Church came out to denounce Donald Trump's endorsement of his Christian fans producing this little gem:

I wonder what Robert's opinion of this is?

WOMEN SHOULD BE TREATED QUITE WELL

I wonder if you noticed that Robert the Catholic guy wrote a post in answer to The Curmudgeon's post HIDDEN WOMEN IN HISTORY where women's contributions to the arts, science and academia have largely been ignored, suppressed or stolen and, when acknowledged it's been done in a condescending way?

Taking umbrage at a suggestion that the Catholic Church has taken a very active role in suppression of women and has largely ignored women's input into the aforesaid arts, science and academia Robert said that The Curmudgeon was bigoted.

He then went on to write, in a condescending way, how he believed that women have been given a fair go by the Church.

     Robert the Catholic guy

His own biases are evident in this defence - "They did not have to fear being divorced or forced to have abortion" - and he struggled to come up with convincing examples - "Even today most churches are named after women".

I very much doubt that's correct and most of them will carry the name 'Mary'. Even if it were  true it would be another example of diversion where the big issue of women's role in the Catholic Church is being deflected by giving the dames some naming rights to keep them happy kind of like giving them some bling or flowers as a sweetener.

On the big issue of women having a say and actually wielding power in the Church, Robert won't condone women becoming priests or bishops like the Anglican Church allows:

"Go to any Sunday Mass and you will see that women probably outnumber men. That's not a sign that they feel oppressed. I'm not that sure that women would really want to be Priests".

        Robert the Catholic guy

I guess that this must be a current talking point in Catholic sermons at present as directed by The Vatican. I've mentioned this before - here's an example CONGREGATION OF THE PROPAGANDA FIDE

I noted that Catholic publications are singing the same song:

There are some very compelling reasons why we do not need women priests in the Catholic Church, and they have names: Mary, Maria, Teresa, Mother Teresa, Therese, Teresa Benedicta or Edith, Bernadette, Bakita—to name just a few. If we consider parish leadership or the administration of sacraments as the only paths to spiritual success, then indeed, we have a problem. However, all the aforementioned women were able to achieve the highest accolade of sanctity without holy orders. In Catholicism, the ultimately goal is to become saintly, not to become a priest, and our female canonised Saints fare pretty well on that score.

The Catholic Herald 4 January 2024

And if you thought that was patronising re-read this that Robert said:

"No, RC women are treated quite well; it is not hard to think of other religions though where this is not true. Maybe Peter will mention them! I suspect not."

I know for damed sure that if I said to The Old Girl "I treat you quite well" I'd be sleeping in the spare room.

STRANGER THAN FICTION

Richard wrote a good post HERE surmising that god might have been the first alien to visit earth .

This is a much discussed theory with many treatises on either side - Christianity vs Reason. Here is an example from each:

CHARIOTS OF THE GODS

OF JESUS AND ALIENS

If you had read Richard's blog post you would have seen that he said - well, never mind - the title was good along with the alien images.

Robert commented ....

...which wasn't very helpful, certainly not adding or even subtracting from the argument. Any fool can say that they believe in something whether it exists or not. I could say that I believe in the Tooth Fairy or Father Christmas or The Easter Bunny without having any empirical proof for their existence. It doesn't make it true.

No. I prefer Richard's proposition as it makes more sense than any of the nonsense in the bible about god and Jesus and explains the miracles. JC might have been the result of in vitro insemination experiments leading to the 'virgin birth' story and, when the Romans, Herod and the Pharisees got stroppy with Jesus, his alien creators whisked him away.
